"Oh nothing babe." lied Robin.
"I heard something." shocked Lulu.
"That was just the radio playing." said Robin.
"That didn't sound like no radio to me." angered Lulu.
Then Sage started stroking Robin's neck with her big toe.
"WILL YOU STOP!!!" yelled Robin as he grabbed Sage's foot.
"I know you did not screamed at me." said upset Lulu.
"No I wasn't talking to you Lulu."explained Robin.
"Then who were you talking then." angered Lulu.
"Oh Robin don't want to play with me some more." teased Sage.
"WAIT A MINUTE IS THAT WHO I THINK IT IS?" snapped Lulu.
"Oh Lulu there's too much static...I can't hear you...I have to go...I'll call you when I get I there San Diego." said Robin.
"ROBIN!!!" angered Lulu.
But Robin hunged up.
"Why the hell did you do that for?" snapped Robin.
"Oh you know you enjoyed it." laughed Sage.
"No I didn't you almost got me in trouble with Lulu." said Robin.
"Ignored her Robin she just playing games." said Charles.
"Let me turned change the radio station." said Sage.
"Hey don't touch my radio I'm listening to that." said Charles.
"Alirght. Oh Robin you still owe me a foot massage." said Sage.
"NO!!!" snapped Robin.
The Sage whispered in Robin's ear.
"Oh don't be like that Robin or else I have to tell Charles how close you and Cassie became during the funeral. threatened Sage.
"Fine anything to keep you quiet." said Robin.
"Here is the lotion and Robin no freaky stuff." said Sage.
Batman642
As Charles drove, he kept looking out of the corner of his eye in disbelief at Robin who was applying lotion to Sage's feet. Charles couldn't believe what he was seeing. He didn't understand why Sage seemed to have such control over Robin all of a sudden.
Charles decided that he was going to pull over at the next rest area and have a talk with Sage to find out what was really going on.
"Hey, why are you pulling in here?" Robin asked. "No way you're hungry again, man. We just ate!"
Charles ignored Robin's question as he parked in a spot. "Sage, would you put your sandals on and step out for a second? I need to speak to you--PRIVATELY."
Sage flashed a big smile. "Finally! Alone at last!" she joked as she jerked her foot away from Robin.
She jumped out of the truck without even bothering to put her sandals on, ran around to Charles' door and stood anxiously waiting for him to get out. When he got out, she grabbed his hand and started pulling him away from the truck towards an empty bench where the two of them sat down.
"What's the deal, Sage?" Charles asked bluntly. "How is it you've got Robin eating out of the palm of your hand?"
Sage giggled, but didn't answer.
"Come on, Sage. I know you must have some kinda dirt on the guy...." Charles said, trying to persuade her to talk.
"Hmmmm......should I or shouldn't I?" she asked herself outloud in a devious tone.
Charles started relaxing on the bench.
"Well, let's put it this way, Sage. I'VE GOT ALL DAY. Robin's on a schedule, BUT I'M NOT. So until you tell me what I wanna know, the car stays parked where it is and I stay on this bench," he threatened.
Sage thought about the fact that she didin't have her meds with her and couldn't afford to waste alot of time herself.
"Okay......I'll tell you why Robin has been so cooperative," she finally agreed.
Charles gave her a confident grin. "Cool, I'm listening...."

Instead of telling the truth Sage thought of a lie.
"Well the reason Robin been so nice to me is because his mother has the hots for Rev. Kingston and he's doesn't want his mother involve with him because of his reputation." lied Sage.
"That's it?" stunned Charles.
"We all know what kind of a person Kingston is and if it got out no one will Robin as the goodie too shoes as he is." lied Sage.
"Are you sure you're telling me the truth?" asked Charles not convienced.
"I swear he begged me no to tell. How pathetic is that." said Sage.
Robin was watching and hoping Sage doesn't tell Charles about him and Cassie.
"Something still not adding up but I take your word for now." said Charles.
"Okay cool." said Sage.
"But you better not be lying Sage." warned Charles.
"How can I lied to this cute face?" asked Sage as she pinched Charles cheeks.
"Don't do that." said Charles.
As soon as they got to the car. Charles was staring at Robin.
"What did you two talked about?" scared Robin.
"Nothing, just some stuff I needed to hear." said Charles.
"Like what?" asked guilty Robin.
"Nothing just you need to stop being a big baby and let you mother go out with anyone she wants. Even if it is Reverend Kingston." said Charles.
"What??" shocked Robin.
"If my mom can move on so can yours." said Charles as he started the call.
Then Robin saw Sage staring at him with an evil grin. Then Sage blew a kiss at him.
Robin was way too uncomfortable.
"This is going to be a long drive." said Robin to himself.

Meanwhile in San Diego, Cassie is in her bedroom packing a suitcase when Beverly walks into her bedroom.
"Cassandra, what's this?" she asked. "I thought we agreed that you and Charles need to talk things out. You don't need to run away from your problems, young lady. You've got two children to think about now," she lectured.
Cassie rubbed her grandmother's back to put her at ease. "Not to worry. I'm NOT running away," she assured her.
"So then what's the suitcase for?" Beverly asked puzzled. "You're not going back home so soon are you?"
"No......Rumor has it that Charles wants me to go with him to Utah for a little getaway. That'll be the perfect opportunity for us to talk like you suggested."
Beverly nodded approvingly. "Good girl. Now you're using your head. And what about the twins? Are they going with you two or staying here with me and your grandfather?"
"Well, I know you and Grandpa love having them around, but Charles will probably want them with us."
"But what do YOU WANT, Cassie?"
Candygwen
"I want them stay and get to know their grandparents but I don't like leaving my babies behind." said Cassie.
"Your babie are wonderful Cassie but I think it will be best if you take your kids with them. They are way too young to be left alone with people they hardly know." said Beverly.
"Are you sure Grandma?" asked Cassie.
"I'm positive. Your Grandfather will understand." said Beverly.
"Yeah maybe its for the better. Hopefully Charles and I will finally get things back on track." said Cassie.
Batman642
Beverly gave her granddaughter a quick kiss on the forehead and then helped her pack her suitcase. As they folded clothes together and chatted, Cassie's cell phone rang.
"My goodness! You young folks and these cell phones! Don't they EVER STOP RINGING?" Beverly asked, amused.
"Sorry Grandma," Cassie apologized as she took a look at the caller I.D. "Oh! It's Lulu!" she said happily. "Hey girl!" she answered.
"Cassie! Thank God I caught you!" Lulu said with a sigh of relief.
"Why? What's up? And don't play games with me, Lulu," Cassie warned her friend.
"No, girl. No games--I swear. I just got off of the phone with Robin. They're on their way out to see you. But Cassie, I swear to God, I heard a girl's voice in the background!"
Cassie chuckled. "Come again?"
"You heard! Robin tried to play it off like it was the radio or something, but Cassie, I heard someone say something about a foot massage. And you know how Robin has a thing for feet, girl......"
Cassie had a flashback of the last foot massage Robin gave her when they were in Eddie's car on their way from the cemetery.
"Cassie? You there?" Lulu asked, worried.
"Oh! Yeah, yeah, Lulu. So lemme get this straight. Charles and Robin are in the car with a girl and Robin is giving her a foot massage but he's lying to you and telling you it's not a girl it's just the radio?"
"You got it! I could just kill him!" Lulu complained.
"So who's the girl?" Cassie asked.
"Sage, Cassie! Who else would it be?!"
"Sage? I was thinking Giselle...." Cassie admitted.
"GISELLE??? WHO ON EARTH IS GISELLE?????!!!" Lulu shouted.
So Cassie explained how she, Robin and Dana met Giselle, Bill's neice, while they were out eating and how later Charles met her on his own and almost got arrested because of her.
"Oh this is just great!" Lulu complained. "I don't know who it is, but I'm telling you, they've got a girl in the car with them, Cassie...." she warned.
"Thanks for the heads up, Lulu," Cassie replied.
"Sure, Cassie, anytime! But what are you gonna do about it?" Lulu asked.
Candygwen
"Well Charles is going to show up as a surprise, so I'm just going to wait until they arrived. So if they show up with either Sage or Giselle they both have some explaining to do and after that I'll them." said Cassie.
"Do what you want with Charles but Robin is mine." said Lulu.
Meanwhile back at Marla's house Eddie and Jenn enjoying the peace and quiet.
Batman642
"I miss my grandtwins, Eddie, but not the screaming and not the pampers!" Jenn joked as she snuggled up next to him on the couch.
"I hear that! Thank God Natalie is potty-trained," Eddie sighed relaxing.
"And QUIET! We hit the jackpot when we adopted her, Eddie," Jenn laughed.
"Yeah....LITERALLY! Who knew we'd be raising a supermodel?"
"Things are really starting to look up for us again, Eddie. I'm so glad. I was almost at my breaking point," Jenn admitted.
"None of that, babe. I need you in one piece--not all broken up," he teased.
"How are you holding up?" she asked, concerned.
He thought before he answered. "I'm holding up. I hope I can go back to work soon, but if not, at least we've got some money now. And with the house renovations starting tomorrow, that'll really be something I can dig my teeth into!" he said excitedly.
Jenn gave him a sly look. "I know something else you can dig your teeth into...." she smiled.
"Why Mrs. Sutton.....are you thinking what I THINK you're thinking?" he played along.
"I think so, Mr. Sutton....." she whispered in his ear.
"Thank God....." Eddie moaned as he picked her up from the couch and carried her up to their bedroom.

Meanwhile back on the road Charles, Robin, & Sage stopped to fill up gas.
"We've got about a half hour to get to San Diego." said Charles.
"I'll call Judge Bradshaw to let him we are almost there." said Robin.
"I'll fill up the gas tank." said Charles.
"I'll watch you pump Charles." said Sage.
"Why don't you make yourself useful and get us some snacks?" asked Charles.
"I would but I just don't feel like it." said Sage.
"For crying out loud I'll go get the snacks. Knowing you, you'll probably poison our food." said RObin.
"Oh Robin can you get me some foot long hotdog and a slushie?" asked Sage.
"You got me money?" asked RObin.
"I only have two dollars." said Sage.
"You know are something else." said annoyed Robin.
"So tell me Charles why are you and Robin heading to San Diego for?" asked Sage.
"That's none of your business Sage." said Charles
"Come on you can tell me." said Sage flirting with Charles.
"If you must know I'm going to meet Cassie. She staying with her grandparents." said Charles.
"Oh Charles miss your girlfriend. I can't wait to meet her grandparents." said Sage.
"Oh no!!! There is no way you are causing trouble. You are going to stay out of site. We are going drop you off at motel." said Charles.
"Are you guys really going to put me in a sleezy motel?" asked Sage.
"Sage you are not going to meet her grandparents." said Charles.
"But why not?" whined Sage.
"Because I know you Sage. You just going to caused trouble and make things even worst for Cassie and me so please back off." frustrated Charles.
"FINE!!! Can I atleast drive your truck?" asked Sage.
"Sage!!!" annoyed Charles.
"Oh Charles you said it yourself I should make myself useful." said Sage.
Soon Charles filled the truck with gas and Robin returned with snacks.
"Alright guys I contacted Mr. Bradshaw and let him we are almost there." said Robin.
"Where's my food?" asked Sage.
"Here. Chew on this." said Robin handing Sage a box of dog bisquits.
"Dog Bisquits...Yuk Yuk Yuk everyone's a comedian." said Sage unimpressed.
"Here are the keys." said Charles.
"Wait a minute you're letting Sage drive?" asked Robin.
"Hey she have to be good for something. Now take your time and do not drive fast." said Charles.
"You do got your linscene (sp) right Sage?" asked RObin.
"Oh course who doesn't?" asked Sage.
As soon Sage got behind the wheel she stepped on the gas and started doing 110 in 65 speed limit. Robin and Charles told her to slow down but Sage wouldn't listen.
"Relax your guys there's no cars Woohoo. There isn't cop a mile away." said Sage.
Soon they were pulled over by the police and told all of them to step out of the car.
"Let me handle this." said Charles.
Charles gave the cop his liscense and registration minutes later Charles ended up with a ticket.
"This ain't the Dukes of Hazzards so in the future you better drive some sense or next I won't be so friendly." said the cop driving off.
Batman642
"Sorry, guys," Sage apologized. "I thought the coast was clear."
Charles was so angry he couldn't even respond. He just got in the driver's seat and Robin did the same.
Sage got behind Charles and slammed the door. "Oh, so now nobody's talking to me?" she asked with an attitude.
Robin took out his Ipod and put it on full blast, ignoring Sage.
Sage leaned forward and put her head next to Charles shoulder as he drove.
"I'm ready to talk...." she sang in his ear.
Charles said nothing in return and continued driving.
"About......Robin........ and Cassie......at the funeral......" she sang in his ear again.
The tips of Charles ears started to turn red, and Sage smiled to herself.
Candygwen
"What happened at the funeral?" angered Charles.
"YOU CHARLES KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD!!!" yelled Robin.
Suddenly Charles saw a huge cattle in the middle of the road. Charles quickly slammed the breaks but it was too late. Charles hit the cattle and it splattered all over the truck. Sage screamed like crazy.
"CHARLES WHAT THE FUCK YOU DO MAN!!?!?" screamed Robin.
"I DIDN'T KNOW THAT CATTLE WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD." snapped Charles.
"OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD!!" said Sage freaking out.
"SAGE CALM DOWN!!" yelled Charles
"I CAN'T YOU KILLED A FREAKIN' COW!!' freaked out Sage.
Robin started to console Sage.
"Charles lets get out of here before some farmer sees us." said Robin.
Charles drove off. Hours later Charles spotted a lake ahead so stopped by so they can cleaned the truck off.
"Damn this stinks. How did either one of you get your lisences?" asked Robin.
"Just shut up and help me." said Charles as they both started to clean off the truck.
"Sage come out and help. It's nothing but blood and burger meat." said Charles.
Sage slowly stepped out of the truck.
"God it stinks Charles." whined Charles.
"Well it's not going away by you standing and watching help out." said Charles as he threw the towel at Sage.
As they were cleaning off the truck Sage leaned toward Robi's ears.
"I came this close to telling Charles the truth about you and Cassie, so if you want to have peaceful trip you better start being more nice to me or else." said Sage as she licked Robin's ear lobe.
Robin quickly tooa tissue and wipe his ear.
"Oh Robin don't be like that. I know you like it." whispered Sage as she struck her foot on Robin's ankle.
"So Sage what went on between Robin and Cassie at the funeral?" asked Charles.
"Oh they both told a joke and it was so not funny." lied Sage.
"What was the joke about?" asked Charles.
"Trust me it's too corny. Baut as corny as your tux at the prom." said Sage.
"Cute Sage!!! Real cute. Well the truck is all cleaned off so we better get back to the road. We already lost time." said Charles.
So they all got back to the truck head back to the road and Sage was trying to come up with some more plan to torture Robin.
Batman642
Meanwhile, back in Lincoln Heights, things are quickly heating up between Danny and Giselle.
"What do you say...you and I go out clubbing tonight?" he suggested as he played with Giselle's long, blonde hair.
"Mmmmm......I dunno......Sounds like fun, but I've gotta ask Uncle Billy first," she replied unsure.
"Where is he? I'll ask him!" Danny offered anxiously.
"He's in the office taking care of my discharge papers."
"Well, I'll wait right here with you until UNCLE BILLY comes out of the office. I'll be more than happy to talk to him--man to man," Danny told her with confidence.
Giselle looked at him with admiration.
Candygwen
"Alright Giselle are you ready and set to go? Excuse me have we met?" asked Bill as he sptted Danny.
"No I was just keeping your niece company. Oh I'm Danny By the way." he mentioned.
"Oh nice to meet you." said Bill shaking his hand.
"WHat brings you here in the first place?" asked Bill.
"Aww just my daily check up that's all." said Danny refusing to tell Bill he came to pick up his meds for his HIV.
"Uncle Bill, Danny asked me to go clubbing with him is it okay?" asked excited Giselle.
"Whoa wait a minute you just getting out the hospital. Shouldn't you rest first?" asked Bill.
"But Uncle Bill I fine honest." said Giselle.
"I was hoping we can spent some time together." said Bill.
"This is so not fair." whined Giselle.
"Wait a minute Giselle your Uncle is right. Family is important." said Danny as he butter up to Bill.
"You know you a nice young man. How about you join us for dinner?" asked Bill.
"I will love to" said Danny.
"It's about time my niece met someone with their head on straight." said Bill.
"I be there around 7pm?" asked Danny.
"Make it 7:30. I'm making pasta tonight." said Bill.
"Works everytime." said Danny as whisper to Giselle ear.
"See you tonight." said flirtatious Giselle.
Meanwhile Charles, Robin, & Sage finally arrived in San Diego but before they could head to the Bradshaws they took Sage to Motel 6 to drop her off. Sage had a bad feeling about this place.
"You guys aren't seriously going to leave me alone here are you?" frightened Sage.
"Relax I'll check on you later this evening." said Charles.
"But can't you spend the night with me?" asked Sage.
"Sage you know I can't do that. I came here to see Cassie." said Charles.
"What about you Robin I mean come on this place gives me the creeps." said scared Sage.
"I'm going to talk business with Cassie's grandfather it may take all night so there's no garunteet that I will be here tonight." said Robin.
"Can't you guys atleast take me to a better hotel than this?" asked Sage.
"Sage I don't have the money to do that and even if I did it will be impossible because all the hotels are fulled." said Charles.
"You guys you can't leave me here alone...I'm scared." said Sage.
"Well should've thought about that before you decided to hitchhike with us. Why don't you call your father and let him know where you are at? I'm sure he s worried by now." said Charles.
"Maybe later." said Sage.
"Look Sage it's only for one night I'll get you a plane ticket first thing tomorrow and you'll be back home in no time." said Robin.
"Yeah just chill. And if you need me call me alright." said Charles.
"Alright." said frighten Sage.
Robin and Charles left the motel leaving a frighten Sage behind.
"Are you sure we did the right thing?" asked Robin
"Sage is a big girl. She can take care of herself." said Charles.
Batman642
Sage decided to take Charles' advice and call her father.
When he found out where she was, he exploded. "San Diego?!! What in the world are you doing in San Diego?!!"
"Daddy....calm down...."
"Don't you tell me to calm down young lady! I've been trying to reach you for hours!" he complained.
"My phone never rang, Dad. Honest!"
"You still haven't told me what you're doing in San Diego!" he reminded her angrily.
"I'm out here with Charles," she explained.
"Charles? Charles Antoni?! He's nothing but trouble Sage! He was just questioned the other night in an assault case against a young woman, and THAT'S who you decide to choose as a traveling companion?!" Lund scolded.
"Assault case?!" Sage asked, stunned and happy to hear some more gossip. "Who'd he hit?"
"Never mind that! Put Charles on the phone!"
Sage hesitated. "I--I can't. He's not here. He left me at a Motel 6 while he visits his kids."
"You're in a MOTEL?! ALONE?! When are you coming home?!"
"Tomorrow, Dad, I promise," she assured him. "Dad, have you heard from Danny?" she inquired trying to change the subject.
"I tried reaching both of you, Sage, and didn't get an answer from either of you!"
"I can't reach Danny either...."
"Well when you get home you won't be seeing him for awhile, you can believe that!" Lund threatened.
"Dad.....aren't you blowing this way out of proportion?" she asked.
"Keep talking, Sage. You are SO GROUNDED!" he warned.
"Daddy, I'm scared enough as it is without you scaring me even more," she finally admitted.
"I'm calling that Antoni kid right now and giving him a piece of my mind!" Lund said as he hung up on his daughter.
Candygwen
"Great what have I done?" frightened Sage.
Meanwhile Charles and Robin finally arrived at the Bradshaws.
"Well we are finally here." said Robin.
"It was a long road trip but it was worth it. I can't wait to see my Cassie." said Charles.
"Lets do this." said Robin.
Robin rang the doorbell and Judge Bradshaw answer the door.
"Robin long time no see. Boy look at you." said excited Judge Bradshaw as he welcome him with open arms.
"Great to see you too." said Robin.
"What's the hold up? I thought you going to get here sooner?" asked Bradshaw.
"Lets just say we got caught in traffic." said Robin.
"Hey Judge Bradshaw remember me Charles?" he asked.
But Judge Bradshaw just ignored Charles and kept on greeting Robin.
Then Beverly and Cassie came downstairs. Cassie spotted Charles so she decided to act surprised.
"Charles!!!" said Cassie trying act surprised.
"Surprised Beautiful."greeted Charles.
"I didn't know you were coming." said Cassie as she ran and hug Charles.
"I didn't know he was coming either." said Judge Bradshaw.
"Hey Cassie." said Cassie.
Then Cassie gave Robin an evil stare and she kissed Charles to rub it in Robin's face. Robin was shocked.
"Robin its so nice to see you." said Beverly hugging Robin.
"Nice seeing you too Beverly." said Robin.
"Now Robin I have told you to call us Grandma and Grandpa." said Judge Bradshaw.
"Oops sorry." said Robin.
"Can I call you Grandpa?" asked Charles.
"Hell No and get your hands off my granddaughter. This ain't Sex in the City." warned Judge Bradshaw.
"Yes sir." said Charles.
"Robin what is he doing here?" asked Judge Bradshaw.
"It wasn't my idea. He wanted to see Cassie and traveling with him was the only way." said Robin.
Batman642
Cassie glared mean at Robin again. "Well I think it was a GREAT IDEA, CHARLES!" she said, pulling him away from the others.
Charles was grinning from ear to ear. "I'm so glad, Beautiful. I wasn't sure how you'd take it," he confessed.
"Let's surprise the twins!" Cassie suggested as she led him up the stairs.
"Can I come up too, Cassie?" Robin asked, hoping to see his godtwins one more time before Sea School.
"Maybe later! You've got business with Grandpa!" Cassie yelled from the top of the stairs.
Beverly and Judge Bradshaw could see the hurt look on Robin's face.
Candygwen
"Is everything alright sweetie?" asked Beverly.
"Yeah...sure." said Robin in a sad tone.
"Okay I baked you a nice hot piece of swwet potatoe pie but first did you have dinner?" asked Beverly.
"We grabbed some snacks at the gas station." said Robin.
"Boy you need some real food. Now I cooked up some porkchops, corn on the cob, cola greens, and mash potatoes." said Beverly.
"And afterwards we can talk business about this renovations you been going on about." said Judge Bradshaw.
Meanwhile Cassie and Charles was in the room with the twins.
Batman642
Cassie watched, amused, as Charles rolled around on the floor, playfighting with his son, while Kalie tried to climb on top of both of them, screaming with delight.
"Daddy! Daddy!" both of the twins continued yelling happily.
Finally, Cassie put a stop to all of the screaming.
"Come on, guys, enough! Grandpa Bradshaw's gonna come up here soon and he's gonna be mad!" she threatened as she pulled Kalie off of her brother and put her in the crib.
"Charles, come on, get up!" she laughed as she pulled Colin off of his father.
Charles was out of breath. "Okay, okay..." he agreed.
Cassie kissed Colin and put him in his crib.
"They missed you, Charles," she told him as he got up from the floor.
He looked her straight in the eye, and she knew what he was waiting for her to say, but she couldn't say it. Finally he just came out and asked.
"Did YOU miss me, Cassie?"
She looked at the floor, and he lifted her chin up, insisting that they look into each other's eyes.
"Well?" he continued.
"I haven't had a chance to miss you, Charles. It's only been two days!"
"Two days too many as far as I'm concerned," he replied.
"Charles, why did you come here?" she asked even though she already knew why.
"I came because I love you, Cassie. And I know you love me too. And just because we're having problems, that's no reason to run out on each other. If anything, we should put our heads together so we can work things out. So, I thought if we got away for awhile.......say........Utah......for instance?"
He watched her expression carefully and waited for her reply.
Candygwen
"Wow I don't know Charles I stay here for two days and my grandparents love Kalie and Colin." said Cassie.
"I know it sudden beautiful, but I really want us to be a family and I feel we can be close if we were in Utah. We had a great time last time despite the fact the way my Uncle acted." said Charles.
"Yeah but your had a good reason Charles." said Cassie.
"I know and he really looking forward to you coming." said Charles.
"If you really meant what you said then yes I will go with you. Me and the twins." said Cassie.
Charles jump for joy.
"That's great I promise things will be better for us...promise." said Charles.
The two started kissing.
"So Charles how was the road trip?" asked Cassie curisously.
Batman642
Charles wasn't expecting her question and got caught off guard, stammering. "Duh.....well, er um.......BOY, did I miss you, Beautiful!" he finally managed to say.
Cassie looked at him skeptically, not falling for his poor performance, and Charles could tell he would soon be in hot water.
"Chaaaarrrrrllless.......what are you hiding from me?" she asked, keeping a sharp eye on his every move.
He thought awhile and took a deep breath first. "Cassie," he started.
"Yes? I'm waiting....."
"I keep telling you that I'm trying to change and be a better person, but now I realize I've gotta put my money where my mouth is," he confessed.
She was puzzled. "What are you talking about, Charles?"
He took her by the hand and led her to the bed where they both sat, holding hands.
"I have to start being completely honest with you and hope that you won't hold anything against me."
"And we're talking about the road trip, right?" she asked, making sure.
"Yeah," he gulped.
"Okay. Be honest, and I won't hold anything against you," she promised.
She could feel his anxiety as he started squeezing her hands harder, trying to get up his nerve.
"It's okay, Charles. Just tell me whatever it is you need to tell me," she coaxed him sympathetically.
"Cassie, I don't know why, but I'm always getting into situations that get blown way out of proportion. This trip was just supposed to be a simple way for me to get out here and reconnect with you and my kids, but it turned into a disaster."
"What happened, Charles?" she asked, getting impatient and worried at the same time.
"I got a speeding ticket," he said, copping out. "AND I hit a cow," he added for dramatic effect.
She did a double take. "Is that it???" she asked in disbelief.
Charles looked sad. "No.......there's more....." he finally admitted, getting his courage back.
Cassie stood up, annoyed. "Charles! If you can't talk to me, what kind of relationship do we have?" she demanded.
He pulled her back down next to him. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. This is hard, Cassie.......but.......well....."
Then his cell phone rang.
Cassie rolled her eyes. "Saved by the bell!" she said sarcastically as she waited for him to check the caller ID.
Charles' eyes got huge when he saw who was calling him.
"What's wrong? Who is it?" Cassie asked.
"The Lincoln Heights Police Department. Officer Lund," Charles replied. "I wonder what does he want....."
"Well are you gonna answer it???" Cassie asked, tired of listening to it ring.
Charles turned off his phone. "No. This is more important," he decided. "Cassie......Sage crashed our road trip. She stowed away in the back of my truck and wouldn't leave. NOTHING HAPPENED. I SWEAR. ASK ROBIN. She just made us miserable, as if we we wouldn't be miserable enough on our own without her!"
Charles watched Cassie's reaction closely and was suprised that she took the news so calmly.
Candygwen
"Where is Sage now?" asked Cassie.
"She staying at Motel 6. Good news is she will be out of hair the rest of the evening. The bad news is you may have to see her one more time when I take her and Robin to the airport tomorrow." said Charles.
"Charles why didn't you say anything sooner?" asked Cassie.
"I don't want you to get the wrong idea or anything." said Charles.
"I believe you Charles." said Cassie.
"You do." surprised Charles.
"Charles all I want you to do is be honest with me. The important thing is that you're here." said Cassie hugging Charles.
As they both hug the phone continued ringing and ring.
"Charles you better answer the phone." said Cassie.
Charles finally answered.
"Hello." answered Charles.
"WHAT'S THE IDEA OF LEAVING MY DAUGHTER ALONE IN A SLEAZY MOTEL?" screamed Lund.
"Sir it's not what you think. Sage is in a safe place." said Charles.
"BULLSHIT!!!" yelled Lund.
"With all do respect sir will you please lower your voice and toned down the profanity. My kids are in this room." said Charles.
"Listen you snot nose little punk you better get my little girl out of this cheap motel or else." warned Lund.
"Sir Sage is safe." said Cassie.
"I'm warning you Charles if something happens to Sage I'm going to do everything I can to not only to press charges against you but to prosecute ass for good you got THAT!!!" angered Lund.
"Yes sir." said Charles.
Lund hung up.
"Is everything alright Charles?" asked Cassie.
"No we have to get Sage out of here tomorrow." said Charles.
"Charles you said it yourself that Sage is safe. I'm going to check on my grandparents. I'll be back soon to hang with you and the babies." said Cassie.
"Alright." said Charles stressed out.
So Cassie went downstairs to hear about the renovation RObin was talking about.
Batman642
When Cassie walked into the room, her grandfather turned and looked at her with a big smile on his face.
"Here she is! The girl of the hour!" he announced.
Cassie looked puzzled as she sat next to Beverly on the couch. "What's going on?" she asked.
"Well, Robin here was just telling us about the beautiful wall you created in the Peace Park and how he wants to restore it."
"Oh that....." Cassie replied, subdued.
"What's wrong, sweetheart? You should be happy that your friend has enough money to undue all the damage that was done," Beverly encouraged her with a hug.
Cassie avoided looking at Robin. "I'm not sure if I want the wall restored."
"What??!!" the three of them responded to her in unison.
Cassie shrugged, still not looking at Robin. "It's alot of work. I don't know if I'm up to it now that I've got the kids and all...."
Judge Bradshaw looked concerned. "Cassie, this is a once in a lifetime offer. You'd better think seriously about it before you turn it down," he advised.
"Yeah, Cassie," Robin agreed, trying to catch her eye but not succeeding.
"I don't know...." Cassie said with an attitude.
Robin stood up. "Cassie, can I talk with you for a minute--alone?"
Before she could answer, he walked over to her, took her by the arm and escorted her from her seat, out of the room away from her grandparents and into the kitchen where it was just the two of them.
They stood face to face, Cassie's back up against the wall, and Robin could tell that she was upset about something but didn't know why.
"Okay, so are you gonna be straight with me or what, Cassie?" he asked her. "Ever since I got here you've been giving me the evil eye and a big-time attitude and I don't think I deserve either one. I'm just trying to be a friend and do the right thing by you is all...." he explained.
Cassie had tears in her eyes as she started to reply.
Candygwen
"You mean doing the right thing by being on my grandfather good side?" said hurt Cassie
"What are you talking about?" confused Robin.
"Robin I thought I meant something to you. You said you love me. You say you were my special me friend. We even had a connection at the funeral. I can see now all of this is a lie." said Cassie in tears.
"Hold up where is all this coming from? I do love you and you are my special friend. " said Robin.
"Cut the act Robin all you ever care about is Lulu and my grandparents." snapped Cassie.
"Cassie I do care about you. Otherwise I wouldn't have turned down 875 million for you and your family." said Robin.
"No you did it for Lulu only!!!." said hurting Cassie.
"Where is all this coming from?" frustrated Robin.
"Lulu told me everything. You did it all for her. You don't love me, nor my children, or my parents. You know Charles was right about you, You're nothing but a two face jerk." angered Cassie.
"NOW WAIT A MINUTE THAT'S A LIE!!! NOW THIS MAY HAVE BEEN SOME TYPE OF MISUNDERSTANDING BUT I DID NOT JUST COME HERE JUST TO HANG OUT WITH YOUR GRANDPARENTS. YES IT TRUE THAT I HAVE TURNED DOWN MY INHERITANCE FOR LULU BUT SHE ISN'T THE ONLY I TURNED DOWN THE MONEY FOR." yelled Robin.
"Let me guess my Gradfather." said Cassie sarcasticly.
"NO I TURNED IT DOWN FOR YOUR PARENTS AND ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THEM AND I TURNED IT DOWN MOSTLY FOR YOU. BECAUSE I LOVE YOU AND I DON'T WANT TO LOSE OUR FRIENDSHIP BECAUSE OF THIS. ALL I WANT IS YOU TO BE HAPPY. I WOULD JUST TOOK MY HERITANCE AND WOULDN'T CARE FOR THE WORLD BUT I DID THIS FOR YOU. I TRAVEL ALL THE DAY TO SAN DIEGO ON THIS STUPID ROAD TRIP JUST FOR YOU. I AM SPENDING EVERY DIME ON THIS SO YOU CAN REPAINT THE PEACE WALL & REOPEN THE REVOLUTION. I TOOK AN EXTRA DAY OFF FROM SCHOOL SO I CAN GO ON THIS STUPID ASS ROAD TRIP JUST FOR YOU. I CARE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR DREAM CASSIE THAT'S WHY I'M FIGHTING TO GET A RENOVATION. YOU MEAN ALOT TO ME." said Robin.
"I wish I can believe you." said Cassie in tears.
"Look I wouldn't be doing all this if I didn't care and love you. I know this Peace Wall means alot to you. That is why I am doing everything I can to get it back. If you don't believe me ask your Mom and Dad, ask my mom, you can even ask Charles." said Robin.
"Alright if I meant so much to you then what were YOU doing rubbing Sage's feet?" said Cassie as her jealousy was out of control.
"wHAT?!?!" shocked Robin.
" I know everything about you and Sage. You two seem to be pretty close on that road trip. So is that how you play it Robin. You use your charm and rub their feet and let them fall for you. How could you do this to me Robin? Matter of fact how could you do this Lulu? And of all people why Sage? How could you lower yourself to her. You know what kind of person Sage is." said Cassie.
"Now wait a minute Cassie. I have never betrayed you or Lulu. And let me tell you something I don't like Sage. Never have and I probably never will. And after this road trip made me dislike her even more." said Robin.
"Then why did you rub her feet?" angered Cassie.
"BECAUSE SHE WAS BLACKMAILING ME!!! She saw us holding hands and getting a little too friendly at the funeral. And she threaten to tell Charles if I don't cooperate. Trust me Cassie, Sage made this Road trip unpleasant. She flashed in front of a truck driver, she got behind the wheel and Charles ended up with ticket because of her. And she almost spilled the beans which made Charles upset and hit a cow. It was hell Cassie. Look I am telling you the truth. I would never lie to you and I shouldn't have to justify my action. Now I'm going back out there to talk business. I still going to save the Peace Park and if you refuse to do the painting then you are not the wonderful person I thought you are." said Robin.
Batman642
Robin left Cassie in the kitchen alone to think about the things he said and went back into the Judge's office to finish signing the paperwork the Judge had prepared.
"Is my granddaugher alright?" Judge Bradshaw asked as he watched Robin closely.
"Oh yeah, she's cool," Robin lied, not wanting them to know about their argument.
"Where is she?" Beverly asked.
"I think she said she was hungry," he lied again.
Just then, Cassie came and stood in the doorway. "Hey."
"Oh! Here she is now," Beverly said happily. "I was just asking for you! Did you change your mind about painting the wall?"
Cassie looked a little ashamed as she came in and sat in between her grandmother and Robin at her grandfather's desk.
"Robin convinced me it was the right thing to do. He has a way with words," Cassie replied quietly.
Robin let out a sigh of relief. "Thank God...."
When he finished signing the last contract, he leaned over and kissed Cassie on the forehead.
"Oh......isn't that cute?" Beverly remarked to her husband. "Robin, you're so sweet!"
Robin got a little embarrassed and didn't know what to say. The Judge cleared his throat loudly, also embarrassed, and got up from his desk.
"Well, now, what do you say we all go upstairs so Robin can see his godtwins now?" he suggested.
As they left the Judge's office to go upstairs, Cassie and Robin lagged behind.
"Robin, I'm sorry I acted so rudely before. You just lost your father and everything and I never should have come down on you like that."
"I accept your apology," he said as they hugged each other. "Now can I see the twins?" he asked anxiously.
Cassie smiled. "You'd better go see those twins! You know how much they love Uncle Robin!"
"And Uncle Robin loves them!" he said as he ran upstairs leaving Cassie at the bottom.
"Hey! Wait for me!" she said as she followed, laughing.
Candygwen
As they arrived to the room they saw Charles playing with the twins.
"Hey kids look who came to see you." said Judge Bradshaw.
"UNCLE ROBIN!!!" said excited Colin and Kalie.
They both ran and jump on Robin hugging and him.
"Haha I'm happy to see you two as well. Ewww gross baby drool." laughed Robin.
"We love you Uncle Robin." said the twins.
"And I love you both too."said Robin as he was playing with them.
"Take it easy kids." said Charles.
"I'm glad you change your mind about the Peace Wall." said Robin.
"Me too. Thanks for convincing me to do it." said Cassie.
"Anytime Cassie." said Robin.
"Robin it just one more thing...call Lulu because she thinks you are messing around with Sage. And sound very upset." said Cassie.
"Don't worry I will.' said Robin.
Charles watch both Robin and Cassie play with the twins then his cell phone rang. It was Sage.
"Sage what do you want?" annoyed Charles.
"Charles please come over this place really creeping me out." said Sage.
"Sage this isn't the time or place." said Charles.
"Charles get me out of here I keep hearing footsteps and walking around the door." said Sage.
"Just keep the door alright." said Charles.
"Can't you or Robin keep me company?" asked Sage.
"Sage I'm with Cassie and the twins." said Charles.
"Charles please get me out of here. I'll stay in the truck for the night I promise." said Sage.
"I can't do that Sage." said Charles.
"Charles please." said Sage very frightened.
Charles realize how frighten she was.
"Alright I'll be there in a few minutes to keep you company but heading going back to Cassie." said Charles.
"Hey Beautiful I'll be back." said Charles.
"Where are you going?" asked Cassie.
"That was Sage on the phone I'm going to check on her." said Cassie.
"What?!?" shocked Cassie.
"It's only will be for a few minutes.
"I'm going with you." said Cassie.
"No!!! It's not safe this time of night. Stay with Robin andyour grandparents." said Charles.
"Charles you just said stay with Robin." said Cassie.
"Yeah I can't I just said that either but your grandparents is here so I trust nothing is going to happen." said Charles.
"What about you and Sage?" asked Cassie.
"Don't worry I won't be out long I promise." said Charles as kissed Cassie.
"Be careful Charles." said Cassie.
Charles left to check on Sage.
"Where is Charles going?" asked Judeg Bradshaw.
"He went to get gas for tomorrow." lied Cassie.
"This time of night?" asked Beverly.
Later the night Sage was waiting and waiting for Charles to come.
"Charles where are you? What is taking you so long?" asked Sage.
Finally she heard a knock on the door. Sage opened the door and it was the truck driver. The truck driver that Sage flash in front of him earlier on the road trip.
"Who are you?" shocked Sage.
"Don't you recognize me. You showed me your delicious little breast earlier." said the truck driver as he grabbed his crotch.
"You have me mistaken for someone else." said creeped out Sage.
"Oh no I've been on the road alot. I can never forget that face." said The truck driver.
"What do you want?" said scared Sage.
"You know what I want. I want to see those delicious tits of yours." said the truck driver as he unzipped his pants.
"Oh MY God!! GET AWAY YOU SICK PERVERT!!!" screamed Sage.
Sage tried to escape but the truck drver grabbed her.
"You ain't going nowhere you little slut. What you just think you were give me a tease and blow me off. Oh no you're going to make me happy." said the truck driver as started to lick Sage's face.
"Get off of me you creep." cried Sage.
Then the truck driver tore off Sage's tanktop and threw her on the bed.
"Now we going to have some real fun." said the truck driver as took his shirt.
Soon Charles arrived to motel 6. As he arrived he heard a scream. Charles rushed over and found out it was Sage. Charles rushed in the room and jumped on the truck driver.
Batman642
The two males fought, rolling around on the floor and knocking over furniture and lamps. Charles gave the truck driver a hard time, putting up a fierce struggle, but eventually the driver overpowered him, knocking him unconscious and stabbing him in the stomach while Sage looked on in horror, frozen.
Candygwen
Sage watch Charles suffer as he bleed on the floor. She knew he had to defend him before while she prayed for help to come. So she build up the little courage she had and attacked the truck driver.
"Leave him alone!!" scremed Sage as she jumped on top of his back.
"Get off of me you little bitch!" said the truck driver as he through her against the wall.
"Drop the knife, and step away from the victims," said Officer Lund as he busted down the door.
Robertadamsonlover
"Daddy!!!" Sage screamed in disbelief.
The truck driver followed Lund's instructions and backed away from Charles and Sage with is hands up. Then Eddie came from behind Lund and handcuffed the driver while Lund radioed for an ambulance.
When Eddie walked the driver out to the squad car, Lund ran over to Sage and hugged her.
"You okay baby?" he asked, trying to hide how afraid for her he really was.
Sage was crying and couldn't answer right away. "Don't worry about me," she finally blurted out. "What about Charles?"
Lund looked at Charles sprawled out on the floor. "I hope he makes it," he replied.
"This is all my fault....." Sage admitted as she knelt down next to Charles on the floor.
"We'll talk about that later. This is no time for blaming anyone," her father told her.
"Daddy, how did you get to San Diego so fast all the way from Lincoln Heights?" Sage asked, calming down.
"Police helicopter. I told Eddie you were over here in San Diego in a motel ALONE and he was more than happy to come out here with me."
The paramedics arrived soon after and took Charles out on a stretcher.
Candygwen
"Oh shit I in fuckin' pain." cried Charles.
"Is he going to be alright?" asked Eddie.
"He has a couple of stab wounds but he'll live." said one of the paramedics.
"Charles are you alright." cried Sage.
"Do I look like I'm alright?" said Charles in pain.
"Charles I am so sorry. I never meant for this to happen." cried Sage.
"Hang in there Charles hopefully you'll be well enough to go to Utah." said Eddie.
Soon the ambulance drove off and took Charles to the hospital.
"I better call Cassie and let her know what's going on." said Eddie.
"I just hope the sgt doesn't hear about this. You're still suspended." said Lund.
"Don't remind me." said Eddie.
Meanwhile back at the Bradshaws, Robin and Cassie continue playing with the twins.
"Wow these twins has so much energy." said Robin.
"Robin you should rest because your plane leaves tomorrow." said Cassie.
"Ahh I'm not tired at all. I can stay up all night." said Robin as he was flying Colin all around the room.
Then Robin saw Cassie with a concern look.
"Cassie are you alright?" asked RObin.
"Yeah I just worried about Charles. He should've been back by now." said Cassie.
"Cassie you shouldn't need to worry. Charles will not cheat on you with Sage. She HIV positive for heaven sakes." said Robin.
Then Cassie cell phone rang and it was Eddie.
Batman642
Cassie smiled as she opened her phone. "Hey Dad! Do you miss us already?" she asked playfully.
"Hey Cassie," Eddie responded in a serious tone of voice.
Cassie could tell from the sound of his voice that there was a problem.
"What's wrong?" she asked, alarmed.
"I want you to calm down, first of all," he instructed her, trying to stay calm himself. "And you might want to sit," he suggested.
"Daaaaad.....you're SCARING ME! Is Mom okay? Lizzie? Don't tell me Tay is in another diabetic coma...." she ranted and raved.
"Everyone back home is fine," he assured her.
"Back home? What do you mean BACK HOME? WHERE ARE YOU, DAD??"
Robin was watching and listening and getting agitated. "What's wrong, Cassie?" he nudged her.
"I don't know, Robin! I'm trying to find out now!!" she shouted, afraid.
"Cassie, is Robin with you?" Eddie asked overhearing their conversation.
"Yes!"
"Okay, do me a favor and put him on the phone," Eddie advised.
"Is something wrong with Monica?" Cassie asked, still worried.
"Something happened to Mom?!" Robin responded as he grabbed the phone from Cassie.
"Hello? Mr. Sutton? What happened to my Mom?" Robin asked immediately.
"Robin! Thank God! Listen, NOTHING is wrong with your mother. I'm not even in Lincoln Heights. I don't want Cassie upset, so just listen to what I have to say and I'm sure you'll be able to handle her."
"Okay," Robin agreed, relieved that his mother was safe.
"I got a call from my ex-partner Kevin Lund. He said his daughter Sage was in a motel alone in San Diego and that Charles Antoni left her there. He said he got a call from her and she sounded like she was in trouble and he wanted to get out there. So he and I got a Police Helicopter and left Lincoln Heights. I'm in San Diego right now at the motel. It's a good thing we got here when we did, because we found Sage half-dressed, apparently in the process of being raped, and Charles Antoni was in the room with her in pretty bad shape."
"He didn't!? He wouldn't!?" Robin responded, trying not to say too much in front of Cassie.
"No, no, no. Don't go getting the wrong idea about Charles! He didn't do anything wrong! Charles got there before Kevin and I did and was trying to SAVE Sage from her attacker, but the slime ball got the best of Charles and stabbed him and beat him up pretty bad. He's in the San Diego County Hospital as we speak."
"His condition?" Robin asked.
"At first he was unconscious, but by the time the ambulance arrived he was cursing up a storm so that's a good sign, I guess. But Cassie needs to know and maybe you can tell her better than I could. I mean, I tried, but the more I tried the more she was getting upset."
"Yeah I heard," Robin acknowledged. "Okay, I'll handle it, Mr. Sutton," he said putting Eddie at ease.
"She'll probably want to see him."
"Yeah, I know. How's Sage by the way?"
"You know Sage. She can hold her own," Eddie said with confidence.
When Cassie heard Robin mention Sage's name, she put two and two together and knew Charles must be involved.
"Robin.......what's going on?" she asked, starting to panic.
"Mr. Sutton, I gotta go," Robin said quickly.
"Okay Son. I'm going down to the hospital. Maybe I'll see you there."
Robin handed the phone back to Cassie and told her to sit down.
Candygwen
"Robin what is going on with Dad?" asked Cassie.
"Cassie be cool because what I'm about to say you may get freaked out about this." said Robin.
"Out with it Robin." frustrated Cassie.
"Alright your Dad is in San Diego with Sage's Dad." said Robin.
"You Mr. Lund? But how did they get there?" asked Cassie.
"They flew in a helicopter. Aparently Sage was freaked out about being in the motel by herself so she called her dad. Well anyway here's comes the bad part...brace yourself. I just found out that Sage was almost rape tonight." said Robin.
"OH MY GOD!!! YOU DON'T THINK CHARLES WOULD'VE?" Cassie wondering and freaking out then Robin interupted " No No No he didn't. I almost thought Charles did that too but your Dad told me it wasn't him. Besides Charles isn't that stupid to go rape a woman who has HIV."
"Then what happened?" asked Cassie.
"Well turns out some creep broke in Sage's room and Sage was half dressed apparently and came this close to being rape until Charles rushed in stop him. Unfortunately the attacker had the upperhand and ended up beating and stabbing Charles half to death That when you Dad and Mr. Lund came in and stopped the him." said Robin.
"OH MY GOD IS CHARLES ALRIGHT?" said freaked out Cassie.
"Your Dad he hurt pretty bad but hell make it. He's in the San Diego Hospital now." said Robin.
"And Sage?" asked Cassie.
"She's a bit shaken up but she'll pull through." said Robin.
"Robin we have to get to the hospital fast if anything happens to Charles I'll just die." said Cassie in tears.
"Cassie, Charles is going to make it." said Robin.
"I don't know Robin. He was in the hospital the last time when he and Sage was in a car accident." said Cassie.
"But they both pull through." said Robin.
"Barely." said Cassie.
"Cassie your Dad says it isn't really major. He may stay overnight but he's going to be alright." said Robin.
"No he's not. My Dad just saying that to calm me down but it isn't we have two kids together if he dies I don't kow what to do." said Cassie as she started to panic.
"Cassie, Charles isn't going to die." said Robin.
"Yes he is. I just know it." cried Cassie.
Cassie started to freaked and panic until Robin came up and kissed Casie with passion. As the two kiss Cassie finally calmed down and they continue kissing until Robin pulled away before it gets too far.
"Robin!!!" stunned Cassie.
"I'm sory it was the only way to calm you down. But don't get any ideas." warned Robin.
"Okay." said Cassie as she smile a little.
"Now we have to get to the hospital. But the question is should we or shouldn't tell your grandparents?" wondered Robin.
Batman642
"My grandmother is cool," Cassie replied immediately as she rushed to gather her cell phone and pocket book.
"And the Judge?"
"He hates Charles. He'll probably throw a party if he hears this."
"Okay, well I'll speak to your grandmother and let her deal with her husband."
"Thanks, Robin. Ask her to drive us to the hospital and get my grandfather to babysit the twins?"
"Sure, Cassie. You just wait outside and get some air. You don't look too good...." he said concerned.
"Can I have another kiss?" she asked shyly. "It might make me feel better....." she said, trying to persuade him.
"Don't tempt me....." Robin warned as he walked out of the room to find Beverly.
Cassie sighed, disappointed, and went downstairs to wait for them outside on the porch.
Candygwen
So Robin caught up with Beverly in the kitchen.
"Umm Mrs. Brad...I mean grandma." said Robin correcting himself.
"Hey Robin." greeted Beverly.
"Can I have a minute with you?" asked Robin.
"Sure what is it?" wondered Beverly.
"Will you take me and Cassie to the hospital?" asked Robin.
"What for?" asked Beverly.
"It's a long story I'll explain this to you on the way. I promise. Please don't tell Judge...Grandpa about this." said Robin.
"Don't I'll get him to babysit the twins." said Beverly.
So Beverly talked Judge Bradshaw into look after the twins by lying going and get more diapers for the babies. And Beverly took Robin and Cassie to the hospital.
"Alright tell me why do I have to lie to my husband so I can take you two the hospital?" asked Beverly.
"Cassie you better tell her. She's your grandma." said Robin.
"I guess you're right." said Cassie.
Batman642
So on the way to the hospital, Cassie told Beverly everything she knew about the situation, starting from Lulu's phone call informing her that Sage or Giselle was on the road trip.
That was an eye-opener for Robin.
"Lulu called you and told you that?!" he interrupted.
"Yes, she did. She's my girl," Cassie said proudly.
"I'm gonna have to have a long talk with Lulu when I get back to school," Robin said, making a mental note.
"Robin, it's only NATURAL that she would fill me in on what she knows or THINKS she knows," Cassie defended her friend. "She heard a suspicious voice in the background when she was talking to you!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm STILL gonna have a long talk with her," he repeated.
"Yeah, well, I'm sure she's got alot to say to you too!" Cassie warned him.
"Ahem!" Beverly cleared her throat. "Are you going to continue the story, Cassie? I still don't know why we're going to the hospital," she reminded her granddaughter.
"Sorry, Grandma. ANYWAY, when Charles and I were playing with the twins upstairs, I got him to finally admit that Sage was on the trip with him and Robin. Then, later on, Sage called Charles begging for him to come to the motel where she was staying because she was afraid. So Charles, being the wonderful guy that he is, left me and the kids with Robin at your house and went over to check on Sage. Unfortunately, Grandma, Sage was in the middle of a bad situation, and Charles got involved in the same situation and tried to help her out and wound up getting stabbed in the process. So he's in the hospital now."
"Oh my....." Beverly replied, concerned. "Is it serious? His injury, I mean...."
"I hope not, Grandma. Charles has had a rough year, healthwise. He was in a car accident. My Dad beat him up over the summer and broke his ribs. He accidentally shot himself in the hand. And now this!"
"Eddie beat him up?!"
"Yes."
"Why for heaven's sake?"
Cassie couldn't tell her grandmother that Eddie caught her and Charles making love in the shower.
"Cassie????" Beverly insisted.
"I don't remember why, Grandma. So much has gone on with Charles and me....."
"But Charles probably deserved it," Robin added.
Cassie shot him a dirty look.
Candygwen
"What!?!" said Robin.
They finally arrived at the hospital ad saw Eddie.
"Dad we came as soon as you told Robin. Well Charles?" asked Cassie.
"They're fixing him up as we speak." said Eddie.
"Where's Sage & Mr. Lund?" asked Robin.
They're in the Lobby. Lund consoling Sage. We'll going to take her back to the Heights tonight." said Eddie.
"That's a relief." said Robin.
Soon the doctor came out.
"How's Charles?" asked Cassie.
He's fine. Charles a bit ruffed up but he'll pull through however he needs to stay overnight to make sure. Anyway you can go see him now." said the Doctor.
"Good thanks." said Eddie.
Batman642
Eddie put his arm around Cassie and the two of them slowly walked behind the doctor as they followed him to Charles' room.
Eddie could feel his daughter trembling and gave her a reassuring squeeze. "It's okay, Cassie."
They approached Charles' bed as he lay there with his eyes closed.
Cassie touched his forehead and ran her hand through his hair. She couldn't believe how swollen and bruised his face was, and let out a whimper.
"Oh my God.... Charles...." she said softly.
"It looks worse than it is, Cassie," Eddie said trying to convince her.
Then Charles opened his eyes a liitle, and when he saw her he tried to grin, but it hurt and he whinced with pain.
"Beautiful......" he moaned. "I'm really sorry about this...." he apologized weakly.
Tears started to spill onto Cassie's cheeks. "I never should have let you go over there without me, Charles!"
"Be strong, Cassie," Eddie whispered into her ear. "You don't want to get him upset."
"Don't cry, Cassie," Charles said, starting to cough.
Cassie wiped her face as she tried to pull herself together.
"That's better..." Charles said hurting as he tried to smile again.
"Are you in alot of pain?" Cassie asked, feeling helpless.
"No, no, Cassie," he lied. "I'll be as good as new after I sleep it off...."
"I'm staying here with you," she said. "I'm spending the night here."
"Cassie......" Eddie began, "I want you to go back with your grandmother. You can come back tomorrow."
"No Dad. Charles needs me," she said dogmatically.
"Your father's absolutely right, Cassie. Go home and be with the twins. It's not good for both of us to be away from them," he reasoned.
"But Charles!"
"Please, Cassie? For me?" he asked, looking weak and pitiful.
Seeing Charles look so pathetic was too much for her and Cassie started to cry again.
Candygwen
Meanwhile Robin and Beverly was waiting in the lobby until Eddie & Cassie.
"Cassie, is Charles going to be okay?" asked Beverly.
Cassie shook her yes quietly.
"You better take Cassie and Robin home I don't my father in law to worry." said Eddie.
"I hope that sick dirty bastard who attacked poor girl and hurt Charles gets what's coming to him." said Beverly.
"Don't worry he will. I'll see to that." said Eddie.
"Come on kids lets go." said Beverly.
"Robin take care of Cassie." said Eddie.
"Will do sir. Come on Cassie there's nothing we can do here." said Robin as he put his around Cassie and walk to the car.
Batman642
Meanwhile at the Bradshaws, Colin & Kalie had changed from perfect little angels to devils in dirty diapers. The Judge was having a hard time controlling them as they screamed and cried and ran a muck.
When his wife, granddaughter and Robin finally made it bac
Candygwen
